Since the first book in the series launched in 2022, the Shady Hollow series have put the "cozy" in cozy mysteries thanks to their gorgeous covers, the adorable (and sometimes sinister!) cast of woodland creature characters, and the village of Shady Hollow and its surrounds. With a compelling mystery in every book, the series has been a favorite among cozy mystery lovers.
With the series coming to the end with Mockingbird Court, I've put together a rundown of all the books (including two short stories) in the Shady Hollow Mysteries and paired them with a Rolife miniature toy set to double down on the cozy. Imagine a quiet, relaxing day listening to the Shady Hollow audiobooks while you work on building these Rolife sets. I can't think of anything cozier!
The first book in the Shady Hollow series, in which we are introduced to the village of Shady Hollow, a place where woodland creatures live together in harmony—until a curmudgeonly toad turns up dead and the local reporter has to solve the case.
Vera Vixen's Home
I enjoy reading about Vera Vixen's day in the Shady Hollow books, which often include going to her office, having a coffee at Joe's Mug, sleuthing around the village, having a delicious meal at the Bamboo Patch, and of course coming home to her cozy home. Which of these two miniature houses do you think match Vera Vixen's aesthetic better?
The second book in the Shady Hollow series, in which some long-buried secrets come to light, throwing suspicion on a beloved local denizen.
Joe's Mug
No cozy village is complete without its cozy watering hole. Joe's Mug is to Shady Hollow what Luke's Diner is to Gilmore Girls: every villager's second home away from home, where everyone gets a cup of coffee and a piece of gossip or two.
The third novel in the Shady Hollow mystery series, in which Vera Vixen takes on her most challenging case yet: solving the murder of a rat who appears to still be alive.
Professor Ambrosius Heidegger's Library
Wise and scholarly owl Ambrosius Heidegger has an important role in the third book of the Shady Hollow series, as does his very unique library, which this book nook perfectly represents! Although Professor Heidegger probably won't need a ladder–he can just fly to the top shelves.
The fourth book in the Shady Hollow mystery series sees Vera embroiled in a case involving star-crossed lovers whose affair may have turned deadly.
A Garden House for Spring
Twilight Falls is set in Spring, and this book nook would be a wonderful addition to Shady Hollow especially for the season. Look at all those blooms!
A unique take on dark academia, featuring everyone's favorite vulpine sleuth, Vera Vixen.
Nevermore Books
Again, no cozy village is complete without a bookshop and its quirky owner, which is what Nevermore Books is for Shady Hollow, owned and managed by the raven Lenore Lee. I feel like her shop is much more expansive than these two miniatures, and they would probably just occupy a small corner of Lenore's entire shop.
In the latest installment in the beloved Shady Hollow series, everyone's favorite vulpine investigator Vera Vixen must contend with a cold-hearted killer—and the ghost of her own past.
Bradley Marvel's Apartment in Mockingbird Court
The famous author and his apartment are central to the last book of the Shady Hollow series, and a police sketch in the beginning of the book gives us an idea of what his penthouse apartment looks like, which we can recreate with the Rolife Super Creator Series.

Shady Hollow Short Stories
There are two short stories in the Shady Hollow Mysteries set in halloween and the holidays, so I paired them with some Halloween and Christmas-themed miniature sets!
To solve the mystery of a young creature that has gone missing, Vera Vixen must uncover the truth behind the Creeping Juniper, a creature of legend, and the equally legendary and elusive Phantom Pond.
Vera Vixen must find the solstice tree that went missing before its unveiling to save the winter solstice and her first holiday in Shady Hollow.
Which Shady Hollow book is your favorite? Which Rolife miniature set would you like to build?
