Cozy Mysteries set in B&Bs

Updated: May 13

There’s no place like home—unless it’s a charming bed & breakfast in an idyllic location. Imagine checking into a lovely inn and being led to a room with a view, a large, comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom. The next morning, after a good night’s sleep, you head downstairs to the dining room for a scrumptious breakfast of fresh pastries, fruit, pancakes, eggs and bacon. You then spend the rest of the day exploring the charming town and its surrounding areas, only returning to the B&B for dinner. After a luxurious bath, you tuck into your warm, cozy bed, excited to do it all over again the next day.

Unfortunately, at least in the cozy mystery world, B&Bs are also often the perfect setting for murder.

Here are three cozy mystery books set in B&Bs perfect for reading during a staycation, and a refreshing espresso-based drink to go with them!

Generations of Warren witches have lived in the sleepy New England town of Evenfall for four hundred years, with each witch secretly using her own brand of magic to help townsfolk in need. But these days, Brynn Warren and her aunts Nora and Izzy hardly ever need their magic to run Ivywood Hollow, their B&B.

All that changes when Constance Graves, a rather difficult guest, ends up dead during her stay. Her Aunt Nora is suspected of the murder, and Brynn has to result to some good old-fashioned sleuthing with a touch of magic to try and prove her innocence by finding the real culprit.

But just when Charlotte thinks she’s already figured out how to run a successful B&B, a guest turns up dead on one of her events and she’s suddenly thrust into a real-life murder mystery. With a killer on the loose, Charlotte must seek help from her bookish guests to uncover the deadly truth.
